Deigo has been quite the Hoodini lately.
Monday night he slipped out of his collar and ran while we were asleep.
Tuesday morning we noticed he was gone. So the search for him began with flyers and calls to the animal shelter and security forces here on base. As well as a massive search from north to south. East to west. All on the base.
We get a call back from the animal shelter saying that they have a dog matching Deigo's description but they were closed because of a water pipe burst or something but we could come and check the dog to see if it was Deigo on Wednesday.
Jessica and the girls are there at 10am (when the shelter opens) and waited and waited and waited while Jessica's allergies to the cats grew and grew and grew. They finally talk to someone and show the worker the flyer with a picture of Deigo and the worker said it was the same dog.
It costed $65.00 to get him back. $30.00 for a transportation fee and $30.00 for impound fee and $5.00 for a day (the per day fee).
Not to mention the $35 dollars to get a harness and new collar (the one he escaped from frayed around the hole to buckle it).
Last night Aaron took him for a walk and he tried to get out of the harness. He successfully managed to work out his leg on one side of the harness.
